EXPERIENCE OF TEACHING PRACTICE
FIRST WEEK
7/11/2016
- 11/11/2016
As a part of B.Ed. fourth
semester teaching practice, we reached (5 members from H.K.M college of
education) N.S.M.G.H.S Kottiyam in 7-11-2016. The working time of the school is
from 10am to 4pm except Friday. On Friday working hour is from 9.30am to 4 pm
(8 periods).all the working days starts with Morning Prayer except Monday
Thursday .General assembly is conducted on Monday and Thursday. For teaching
practice I got STD 9A and 9F.During the first week I completed 5 lesson plans
from unit 4. I asked review questions for getting the feedback about my class
and about the topic I taught. Students responded positively. The learners were
active throughout all my classes. From the school I understood that sub
district kalothsava is being conducted in govt .H.S.S Chathannoor form
30-11-2016 to 3-12-2016. For this our school students from 10 STD were practicing
to participate in chavittunadakam. This was a novel experience for me because
for the first time I am observing chavittunadakam. This was a very good week of
my teaching practice.
SECOND WEEK
14/11/2016- 18/11/2016
As usual I reached the school at 9.15 am. On November 14 as a student
teacher it was the time of happiness for me because November 14 children’s day.
Special assembly was conducted on that day. Most of the students made a speech
in the assembly. Sisterwished all the children’s a very prosperous children’sday.
I completed another 5 lesson plans from
unit 4 in this week. During this week I observed Amjatha’s 3 classes as a part
of my peer evaluation. On Wednesday the school management conducted a retreat
for UP section and high school sections. We 5 members also participated in the
retreat programme it was a very novel experience, because that class created a
positive impact on students, especially for teenage students. Thisprogramme
helped to change the behavior in the students. On next day, the reflection about
the retreat was presented in the assembly and also sister Baby Marget
distributed gifts for students who won the prizes in school youth festival. I
got an opportunity to conduct some outdoor games for the student of class 9 A.
All the students actively participated in the games .It was a good experience
for me. I enjoyed very well in this week .It was an awesome experience.
THIRD WEEK
21/11/2016-25/11/2016
As usual I reached the school at 9.15 am. All the working day starts
with Morning Prayer. General assembly is being conducted on Monday and Thursday.
I completed jungle air crash. The students were very active .I served the mid-day
meal. In this week Rejani miss came for my class observation. she had given a
positive feedback about my class. Some students came to interact with me and other
training teachers.on Wednesday ,there was an awareness programme conducted by
tvm aviation college students on the
topic drug abuse .They provided some materials to students by making the aware about the
negative impact of using drugs.it was a good experience for the students.
We also participated in that programme. During this time i got an opportunity
to observe students who were practicing for youth festival. And I got to visit computer
lab and observe the method of teaching with the help of computer .on Friday,
the moral classes are provided for the students.
FORUTH
WEEK
28/11/2016-2/12/2016
As usual i reached the school at 9.30 am .All the working days starts
with Morning Prayer .General assembly is being conducted on Monday and Thursday.
The special programs were conducted on this assembly .Here the head mistress
remembered the students about the rules and regulation of the school. The
school provided special education for SSLC students. For teaching practice I
got STD 8A & 9 A for teaching. During this week I served the mid-day meal
for student’s .After lunch, I made an informal interaction with some students.
During this time, I got an opportunity to observe the practice of students
who were participating in sub district kalotsavam. This week I taught Another
Chance. I used concept attainment model for teaching the topic.I got a free
hour for 6 A. I made an informal interaction with the students .I conducted an
activity to make the students active .I provided some activity card and I
divided the class into four groups and gave names for this groups and give
fifteen minutes for discussion. All students are interested in this activity.
On Friday the moral classes are provided for the students.
FIFTH
WEEK
5/12/2016-7/12/2016
As usual I reached the school at 9.30 am. All the working days starts
with a morning prayer. General assembly is being conducted on Monday and
Thursday. In this assembly the school leader gave a speech based on thetopic
terrorism. The social science club conducted an awareness programon terrorism.
This week I taught the rest portion of Another Chance. I observed Amjdha’s 5 classes
as a part of my peer evaluation. I made an informal interaction with the students.
I gave an activity for the students .the students actively participated in the
activity and responded in a good way .The convener of the nature club conducted
a meeting. On the behalf of the nature club students planted some seeds and plants
.I also participatedin this club activities. OnFriday, the last hour is celebrated
as sargavela. Thestudentexpressed their talents like dance, music,monoact,drama
etc. All enjoyed the special program. Teachers are also participated in this
activities .all enjoyed this program.it was a good experience for
The students and also enjoy it.
SIXTH
WEEK
9/1/2017-13/1/2017
This week starts with a morning assembly Sister Baby Margret
distributed the prizes for those won who in sports meets conducted at
districtlevel. That day was the feast of our sister so she was so happy to
share her experience in assembly . After that there was a meeting in the
staffroom. Sister invited us for that meeting, all teaching and non-teaching
staff presented a gift to the sister. Sister delivered a speech at that meeting,
by thanking the teachers for their gift. In that meeting the deputy sister
distributed sweets for all of us. It was a different experience for us. After that
physical education sir came and selected some students to play cricket for
cricket tournament. Some pupils are very interested in playing cricket. Most of
the students are from high school section . Then it was a holiday on Jan 10
Tuesday. On Wednesday my option teacher came for class observation . On that
day I took water pollution in STD 8 A using ICT and activity cards.Pupils
actively participated in the class. After observing the class teacher told me
thefeedback. Teachersaid that, overall the class was good and also told that
there are some weak points .I completed all my portions that was provided to me
.On Thursday I conducted an achievement test in class 9 including uint 4 out of 25 marks. On the same day I got
a chance to attend an exam duty .in the last day of our teaching practice I conducted
diagnostic test and provided remedial teaching for the student. And I conducted
an awareness programme on the topic negative impact of internet;the programme
was inaugurated by deputy sister Susan and in the presence of their class teacher
shiny. I got an effective feedback from the students and teachers. Then we
brought sweets for teachers and childrens.at the evening teacher conducted a
meeting in the presence of H.M me and Amjada started the meeting by a prayer song.
Then Rafi welcomed all the teachers and sisters for the meeting .then we, B.Ed.
trainees shared our experience in the school. After that we distributed sweets
to teachers and thanked them all especially our option teachers for their
co-operation .All teachers gave us wishes forour betterfuture. Overall teaching
practice was a very great full experience for me
